A rich variety of landscapes

With great year-around weather, archeological sites galore, incredible scenery, and a rich variety of landscapes – from snowcapped Mt. Hermon in the north to the Red Sea in the south – mountain biking is the way to go to really get off the beaten track and explore Israel’s countryside.

Israel has it all- from flat lands to rolling hills and steep mountainous terrain.  We’ll tailor the itinerary to your needs, experience, and the time you have available. Suitable for all riding ages and children too!  

Israel National Trail

Beginning at snow capped Mt. Hermon in the north and extending 850 kilometers to the Red Sea in the south, the Israel National Trail winds its way through areas of great natural beauty, historical, and biblical interest. Many of the sections are in the process of being adapted for mountain biking as well. 

Mountain biking the Hills of Judea   

One of our favorites trail sections is a 40 km. section of the Israel National Trail located southwest of Jerusalem:  The trail begins at Mevo Beitar located out in the Judean Hills at 774 meters above sea-level and ends at the Beit Guvrin national park at 250 meters. The ride takes about 6 hours and traverses forested landscape, rolling farm land, and lots of sites of biblical interest- such as the Elah Valley, where David killed Goliath.  Overall, the ride is a descent- over undulating terrain - and is suitable for an average rider with average fitness.

Cycling with young children

A wonderful area for young children and less experienced cyclers is around Beth Shemesh.  Located between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv it is loaded with parks and wide forested J.N.F. trails.  Suitable for riders from age 8 and up
